A few 'golden oldies' from the blog that was, but is no more!

Bearded Tits at Hyde Park

Waxwings feeding on a roundabout in Oakwood

Redshank

Garden wildlife

A few extras taken whilst in Kent - I don't normally drift away from birds, but these were irresistible.

Dover - Kingsdown - Stodmarsh

A couple of intense days spent bird watching in Kent yielded some satisfying results...here's a couple of pics taken from 'the scrape' at Sandwich Bay:

Not sure if I've messed up the photo by increasing the contrast..but I quite like the overall effect

The rest of the pics are from the cliffs between Dover and Kingsdown:

I can't get enough of these fulmars!!!
The highlight of the show - 2 peregrine Falcons - sadly wouldn't let me get a close up!

Greater Black Backed Gull

The corn bunting was happy for me to come within a few metres for a close up...unfortunately the Yellow Hammer was less inclined...in both cases the sky was bright grey making a nice photo very difficult, but here this is what I managed.

Ireland - Mar-May 2014

2 months in Ireland surrounded by beautiful scenery gave access to some stunning birds.

Wicklow National Park

Stonechat

Wheatear

One of the highlights had to be seeing my first Purple Sandpiper (thanks Roy!)

The cliff top photo was taken on a walk between Greystones and Bray. In the pic you can see Razor bills and a Kittiwake...these were present along with Shags, Common Guillemots and a whole host of gulls etc.

A firm favorite...the Fulmar!

My return

So...here is my blog...well, my second blog! The first one died in tragic circumstances (accidental misuse of the delete key)...so lets hope this one has a longer life span. I've called it 'the birdographer'. What that basically means is that 'jack of all trades...expert of none'. A keen bird watcher who likes to photograph his subjects with varying results! I hope you enjoy, and please feel free to leave comments.
